HEXACO FAQ

The standard local form, HEXACO Model Reflection, has 36 items and is available for voluntary educational reflection. The 10-item short draft is unavailable pending coverage, evidence, provenance, and permission review. Two short-form domains have only one item each. The short draft is not an established equivalent of the standard form.

No. Our local agreement questionnaire is not the official HEXACO-PI-R, including its published 60- or 100-item forms. Item-by-item source, adaptation history, and instrument-specific permissions for the local form still need verification. The shared model name does not establish affiliation or authorization.

The six domains are Honesty-Humility, Emotionality, eXtraversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, and Openness to Experience. They describe broad tendencies, not six types of people. The published model also has narrower facets; our local form does not provide validated facet scores.

HEXACO includes Honesty-Humility and groups some emotional and interpersonal characteristics differently. Emotionality includes fearfulness, worry, emotional support, and sentimental attachment. Agreeableness emphasizes patience, forgiveness, and responses to anger. The model is not simply Big Five plus one score, and similarly named dimensions are not interchangeable.

This implementation has not been empirically validated. Research about the model or official inventory does not validate our item set, scoring, or interpretations. No supported local reliability coefficient or accuracy percentage is available. Honest answers cannot remove those evidence limitations.

No. The model discusses sincerity, fairness, modesty, and attitudes toward advantage, but our local score cannot certify honesty or prove dishonesty. Do not label someone manipulative or trustworthy from it, or use it for integrity screening. Discuss specific conduct and its consequences instead.

No. Local scores use a 0-100 response scale without population norms. Reverse-keyed statements contribute in the opposite direction; keyed minimum, neutral, and maximum responses map to 0, 50, and 100. A score is not a rank among other people or a probability. Response-range labels are display bands, not validated or diagnostic cutoffs. Mixed answers can produce a midpoint without proving a balanced personality.

Standard: 36 questions, about 3-6 minutes. Estimates allow 5-10 seconds per question, rounded up to whole minutes. Your pace may vary. This is not an observed completion-time study. Read at your own pace. There is no available short-form session to time.

Use them only for voluntary educational self-reflection, not diagnosis, treatment planning, hiring, promotion, educational placement, eligibility decisions, or judging character. Scores cannot identify suitable jobs, predict success, or establish relationship compatibility. Qualified support for distress does not depend on a score.

You can reject a result. A mismatch can reflect the questions, context, interpretation, or measurement error, not a failure of self-awareness. Later score changes do not prove growth, decline, or a treatment effect. Concrete examples and exceptions are more useful than forcing yourself into a description.

The standard local reflection is free. Completed results are link-only: URLs contain encoded scores, assessment identity, and completion date. Anyone with the link can read the result; encoding is not encryption. Signing in alone does not save an account-backed history.
